Hundred of forests fires are out of control; new fires were appearing faster than the emergency services could put out the old ones as the total affected area nationwide increased to around 196000 hectares.

The death toll also rose to 50 after a body was found in a burned down house and at least 500 people have been injured. In the course of the last 24 hours, 373 fires have appeared and 254 have been extinguished.

As a result there are now 589 wildfires burning in Russia covering an area of 196,000 hectares reported the ministry.

Seven Russian regions have declared a state of emergency, according to ministry, 162,000 workers have been deployed to douse the flames to prevent an even greater calamity as wildfires rage within a few miles of the country’s top secret nuclear research centre. Most of workers are volunteers alongside a few thousand fire fighters and 10,000 soldiers.

They are using heavy machinery to cut huge troughs into the ground in an attempt to stop the fire from creeping.

Mendvedev warned Russia’s top naval commanders and sacked a number of high-ranking officers for failing to prevent a wild fire spreading to a military base last week.

Clashes around a shared border Between Lebanon and Israel ended in deaths on both side. In a deadly exchange of fire power four soldiers were wounded, a journalist and three soldiers from Lebanon were fatally wounded and one from Israel was also killed.

A Lebanon Military spokesman said; that the barrage of gun play began when Israeli soldiers entered their border, Lebanon says that their soldiers only fired warning shots which were met with Israel helicopters and artillery .

The Prime minister of the Lebanon Saad Hariri said it’s a total violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty.

The Israeli military said that their soldiers were on their daily routine task in an area of Blue Line when this of a sudden they were fired on.
Israel also claims that the Lebanon army fired at them and injured two of their soldiers.

The UN peacekeeping force said for both countries to exercise self control.

Some analysts believe that the situation occurred because the border between Lebanon and Israel is not clearly defined.

Seven men died in a helicopter crash on Monday in Romania. The dead include six IAF service men and one Romanian soldier.

Romanian officers found the wreck of the helicopter and began investigating the cause of the crash. According to the chief officer, the helicopter crashed into the mountains in Central Romania.

It is reported that human remains and parts of the helicopter were scattered over the area. Because of the rocky terrain, proper equipment is needed to carry out the investigation.

The President of Romania, Traian Basescu, has expressed grief over the tragedy. He sent his condolences to Shimon Peres, the president of Israel, in a letter.

The reason for the crash is still not known. IAF Brig.-Gen Nimrod Shefer reported that radio communications between the helicopter that crashed and another helicopter participating in the training exercise were reviewed by the IAF. There were no indications that the aircraft experienced technical difficulties or adverse weather conditions.
