The Estee Lauder Companies Inc. (NYSE:EL) today announced that Ronald S. Lauder has retired from the Company’s Board of Directors. He joined the Board in 1968 and continued to serve as a director when the Company went public in 1995. The Board has elected his daughter, Jane Lauder, 36, to fill the vacancy on the Board. Ms. Lauder is currently Senior Vice President/General Manager of the Company’s Origins brand. Ronald Lauder, 65, will continue to serve as Chairman, Clinique Laboratories, LLC and as an officer of The Estee Lauder Companies.

Century Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ:CNBKA) (www.century-bank.com), the parent company of Century Bank and Trust Company, announced today that its Board of Directors has approved a reauthorization of the stock repurchase program. Under the program, the Company is reauthorized to repurchase up to 300,000 or less than 9% of Century Bancorp Class A Common Stock outstanding. This vote supercedes the previous program voted by the Board of Directors on July 8, 2008, which also authorized the Company to repurchase up to 300,000 or less than 9% of Century Bancorp Class A Common Stock.

VSB Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: VSBN) reported net income of $459,297 for the second quarter of 2009, a 7.7% increase from the second quarter of 2008. The following unaudited figures were released today. Pre-tax income was $853,041 in the second quarter of 2009, as compared to $793,067 for the second quarter of 2008, an increase of $59,974, or 7.6%. Net income for the quarter was $459,297, or basic income of $0.26 per common share, as compared to a net income of $426,275, or $0.23 basic income per common share, for the quarter ended June 30, 2008.

This impairment charge reflected the write-off of all of the goodwill of the Company’s Subscription Fulfillment Services segment. After giving effect to this impairment charge, the Company reported a net loss of $43,466,000, or $7.25 per share, for fiscal 2009 compared to net income of $13,705,000, or $2.19 per share, in fiscal 2008. Revenues were $145,901,000 compared to $172,061,000 in the prior year.
