Power3 Medical Products, Inc. Itokk, Inc. (OTCBB: IKTO), formerly known as Shadow Marketing Inc., announces that it has completed its agreement with Packetera Communications Inc. (”Packetera”), a private Canadian company, whereby it has acquired the exclusive worldwide 75 year license to use, sell, market, distribute and/or sublicense various products and services owned by Packetera, including an application programming interface for voice-over-Internet protocol (”VOIP”), callback web-to-voice applications, session initiation protocol-Softphone products, virtual calling card products and social VOIP solutions, Internet protocol devices, hosted network platforms and VOIP engineering consulting services. Itokk has also acquired Packetera’s interest in three existing reseller agreements to supply such products and services. The license also covers any future telecommunications products and services that Packetera develops. Itokk holds the license and existing agreements through a newly incorporated Nevada subsidiary, “Itokk Communications, Inc.”.
Affymax, Inc. (Nasdaq:AFFY) and Takeda Pharmaceutical Global Research & Development Center, Inc., today announced data from multiple clinical and preclinical studies evaluating Hematide, including preliminary results of a Phase 2 trial which demonstrated that Hematide increased hemoglobin levels in a group of anemic hemodialysis (HD) patients. This is the first reported data from an open-label, controlled comparative study of once-monthly Hematide compared to three times per week epoetin alfa (EPO). These results were presented at the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Renal Week 2009 in San Diego, CA. Separately, Hematide is currently being evaluated in four Phase 3 trials for the treatment of anemia associated with chronic renal failure.
Maui Land & Pineapple Company, Inc. (NYSE:MLP) reported a net loss of $25.5 million or $3.17 per share for the third quarter of 2009 compared to a net loss of $8.7 million or $1.09 per share for the third quarter of 2008. The loss for the third quarter of 2009 includes $22.8 million equity in losses from the Company’s investment in Kapalua Bay Holdings, LLC, compared to $5.1 million income attributable to this investment for the third quarter of 2008. Consolidated revenues were $26.7 million for the third quarter of 2009, compared to $19.1 million for the third quarter of 2008. Revenues for the third quarter of 2009 include the sale of two properties that resulted in revenues of $11.7 million.
Schering-Plough Corp. (NYSE: SGP) announced today the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a complete response letter to the company’s supplemental Biologics License Application regarding PEGINTRON® (pegylated interferon alfa-2b) for the adjuvant treatment of patients with stage III malignant melanoma after complete lymphadenectomy.
