Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE:ARW), announced significant LED lighting technological and cost-saving improvements to its new office location in Mexico. Known in Mexico as Arrow Components Mexico, Arrow’s new 4,500 square-foot office space in Mexico City is now lit 100 percent by LEDs, including conference rooms, offices and its showroom.
LSB Industries, Inc. (NYSE: LXU), announced today that its Cherokee Nitrogen Company subsidiary (Cherokee Nitrogen) has signed a long-term agreement with Yara North America, Inc. (Yara) to supply Yara with diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) which will be produced at Cherokee Nitrogen’s chemical manufacturing facility in Cherokee, Alabama. DEF is an exhaust system additive and scrubbing agent used to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from diesel engines. DEF breaks the NOx down into harmless components of water vapor and nitrogen gas. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has enacted emissions standards which will become effective in 2010 that require the reduction of NOx emissions. Our Earthpure DEF(TM) meets the stringent quality requirements of the American Petroleum Institute and significantly reduces NOx emissions. It is anticipated that our Earthpure DEF(TM) will be available in January 2010 and will be marketed under the Yara brand name Air1.
Aberdeen Group, a Harte-Hanks Company (NYSE: HHS), announced today the top performing vendor rankings in its “Talent Acquisition AXIS(TM).” Aberdeen’s AXIS(TM) is a report that provides a competitive intelligence perspective that allows organizations insight into the technology providers that helped leading companies achieve superior performance. In a pilot project designed to harness the power of the ocean breezes along North Carolina’s coast, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK) announced they have signed a contract to place up to three demonstration wind turbines in the Pamlico Sound.
National Instruments (Nasdaq: NATI) today announced more than 8,000 instrument drivers available through the NI Instrument Driver Network (IDNet) that make it easy to connect and control stand-alone instruments. IDNet is the industry’s largest source of instrument drivers and easy-to-use software optimized for instrument control, including NI LabVIEW, LabWindowsTM/CVI and Measurement Studio for Microsoft Visual Studio. This network, which includes more than 500 new drivers added since April 2009, offers instrument drivers to connect to both NI instruments and stand-alone instruments from more than 325 vendors, including Tektronix, Agilent Technologies and Rohde & Schwarz. By using this source of instrument drivers, engineers and scientists can save time by getting their measurements faster and achieve more with their overall applications.
