Thousands of Opposition Party Workers take to the streets in Thailand

At least 4000 workers of Thailand’s main opposition party rallied in support of antigovernment protestors.
A recent deadly military crackdown on antigovernment protestors two months ago in Bangkok has led to the strong opposition.
All the protestors gathered at a themed park in a show of support for a detained `red shirt` leader representing the Puea Thai Party. The show of power comes ahead of a pivotal Bangkok election.
The supporters were dressed in red and dared to rally in spite of a declared state of emergency which has been in place across a quarter of the country since May. In May the country was struck with deadly riots that marked the country’s worst political violence in Thailand’s modern history.
The red shirt supporters have been driven underground after a state of emergency that has allowed arrests without charges, bans on public gatherings and broad media censorship.
The red shirt’s illegal demonstrations have taken place at the upscale Rachaprasong intersection they had occupied in down town Bangkok to draw the world’s attention to the 90 people who died and 2,000 who were wounded during clashes between protestors and soldiers in April and May.
