Honey bees disappearing in the U.S

Honeybees that help in the pollination of crops are disappearing at a fast rate from the United States, Reuters said. The beekeepers as well as the U.S Agricultural department are studying the cause of this decrease. One of the reason yet identified is the use of pesticides on the crops. Bee keepers are making efforts to keep their bees alive.
David Hackenberg is the largest beekeeper of the U.S eastern Coast. He supplies his own raised bees for crop pollination. He has spent 48 years of his life working on understanding a bee’s nature.
According to him farmers pour a lot of pesticides to make their crops grow well. These pesticides, when sucked by the bees for their food, enter the insect’s body, resulting in the bee’s death. He said that he found the wax of bees rich with pesticides.
“I don’t think the future is good,” Hackenberg says, “It’s going to take a long time to clean up our environment. We contaminated our environment to the point that is going to take a long time to reverse it.”
Researchers find the reason of disappearance of the bees as lack of the appropriate kind of food available to the honey bees which they need to survive. When they fly over same crops they don’t get a variety of food. This is increasing their death rate.
USA is facing the bee problem now for almost seven years, and now the problem has increased. Decrease in crop pollination will certainly effect the agricultural production this year.
