2 More Protesters Shot and killed in Kashmir
Reported By: Soha CRWE Newswire Middle East correspondent
Two more protesters were killed in Indian Held Kashmir as the Indian security forces opened fire on thousands of people demonstrating against New Delhi’s rule.
The police statement said `police opened fire after violent demonstrators attacked a police station Bhijbihara. One person died and several others were injured`.
The protests in Kashmir that started after the killing of a teenager by the Indian security forces have continued for more than two months now. The unarmed civilians shout anti-India slogans and pelt stones at the security forces. The troops always respond by firing at the civilians, the death toll has reached 61.
The recent surge in the pro-independent protest by the Muslim majority Kashmir valley has shocked the world. Thousands of people have been killed since 1989 when an armed struggle was stated by the Kashmiris against the Indian control.
The Most important aspect of the issue so far is the criminal silence of the world powers including the UN that quite amusingly backed away from its statement on Kashmir.
